The Oakfish Foundation follows the “teach a person to fish” principle, realizing that if you GIVE a person a fish, they will have food for one day, but if you TEACH a person to fish, and provide them the correct tools, they then have the opportunity to feed themselves, and possibly those around them, for a lifetime.
In evaluating grant proposals, the Foundation will focus on qualified 501©(3) charitable organizations that (i) are Christian-based (ii) centered around youth or young adult development (iii) give 90% or more of the grant funds directly to impact the person/program needs; and (iiii) will use the grant for programs that empower individuals to better their lives and the lives of those around them.
