Mission

Empowering individuals to change the trajectory of their future by equipping them with vital skills, resources and opportunities that enable independence and the ability to give back to the communities in which they live.

The foundation emphasizes grantmaking in the following areas, with a particular interested in Christian based programs:

  1. Youth and Young Adult Development
  2. Educational Opportunities
  3. Rehabilitation Programs
  4. Disaster Relief

Guiding philosophy
of the Foundation

The Oakfish Foundation follows the “teach a person to fish” principle, realizing that if you GIVE a person a fish, they will have food for one day, but if you TEACH a person to fish, and provide them the correct tools, they then have the opportunity to feed themselves, and possibly those around them, for a lifetime.

In evaluating grant proposals, the Foundation will focus on qualified 501©(3) charitable organizations that (i) are Christian-based (ii) centered around youth or young adult development (iii)  give 90% or more of the grant funds directly to impact the person/program needs; and (iiii) will use the grant for programs that empower individuals to better their lives and the lives of those around them.
